I've decided to change the reading rotations to be more structured rather than letting the students decide what they'd like to work on each day. Too many of them were struggling to prioritize assignments and get things completed. This then snowballed into not enough done for Fun Friday. I'll try again if it looks like they're self monitoring and prioritizing things better.
2/21 - Schoolwide Lockdown Drill (Law Enforcement on Campus) 2/24 - Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser Kick-off 2/28 - Leadership Day, 8:30-10:30am
Math: We will finish our study of 2-D and 3-D shapes. Most will need to finish the test from Friday. The review went longer than I had planned. Most still have problem they are reworking on the subtraction assessment. Our next topic will be data collection and graphing. We will also continue using different problem solving strategies
Language Arts: Our reading focus will be locating facts in a text that are clearly stated in the text. In writing, we will continue cursive handwriting and writing persuasive statements. Phonics will practice r-controlled words with -ar.
Social Studies: We will finish our study of identifying and locating places of significance in the United States and Texas. We will also discuss and identify significant Texas symbols.
Science: We will begin discussing and experiment with how we find magnets in everyday life.
