*Snacks: I remembered what the teacher my son's both had in fifth grade used as a decision maker for packaged snacks. If any of the first three ingredients listed were sugar or a form of sugar, that item had to be saved for lunch. It's a pretty good barometer for deciding if it's okay for morning snack.
*Thank you for returning the Tiger Tracks from the Thursday folder last Friday.
*We will be going to Zachary Scott Theater on October 5th to see Charlotte's Web. Thank you to all that have sent back their permission slips. If you haven't sent it back, let me know if you need a second copy.
*Please make sure to go to skyward and pay for your child‛s field trips ($20). You can also send a check in with your child made out to WSES.
Math: We will spend a week learning about telling time to the minute. This is an introduction so that they have a better idea of their day and the schedule. We will revisit the concept later in the year for mastery.
Reading: We will be practicing expectations in reading centers this week. Our focus will be on Fairy Tales and the characteristics of a Fairy Tale.
Language: Students will be learning what stations look like, what they do at each station, and my expectations of them while I'm working with one student or a small group.
Social Studies: We are starting a unit on maps, types and how to read them to get where you're going.
Science: We will begin recording the weather to look for patterns and discuss how the water cycle influences out weather.
